Today, software developer mrc announces the release of new productivity and UI enhancements within the m-Power Development Platform. m-Power is an enterprise low-code development platform that businesses use across their organizations. It creates web applications such as report-writing, business intelligence, executive dashboards, customer portals, database front-ends, and workflow apps to name a few.
This release brings a number of enhancements to m-Power--aimed at improving developer productivity and m-Power capabilities. Here's a brief overview of each feature:
Redesigned Promote to Production
First released several years ago, the Promote to Production utility gives developers the ability to promote their own apps without physical access to the server. Over the years, we've collected a list of UI/UX improvement suggestions and incorporated many of them into this enhancement.
Overall, this enhancement brings two huge benefits:
- Simplifies the process: Promoting applications to production is now simpler and faster for m-Power developers.
- Includes new capabilities: We've also built new features into the process. When promoting to production, it recognizes and suggests dependent files that need to be promoted (such as the web.xml file) as well. It also tracks the last time an application was promoted.
- Improved UI: The UI was revamped and streamlined to better fit into the overall m-Power platform footprint.
Single Sign-on (SSO) with OAuth2/OpenID/SAML
This enhancements lets users automatically sign in to m-Power applications based on a previous authorization into a 3rd party provider. For instance, suppose a user is already signed into their MS Office 365 account and wants to sign into m-Power directly/automatically based on that. With Single Sign-on (SSO), this is simple. m-Power can be configured to work with a variety of IdP (Identity providers) including Okta, WordPress, Azure, and more.
Signature Capture
With this enhancement, we added the ability to capture and display signatures in m-Power applications. This is an especially useful feature when creating mobile and tablet web applications. With signature capture, employees in the field can capture signatures for work completed or products delivered--without the need to carry around paper forms!
