Today, software tool developer michaels, ross & cole, ltd. (mrc) announces a significant upgrade to m-Power's templates. m-Power is software that rapidly creates web applications such as report-writing, Business Intelligence, executive dashboards, e-commerce, customer portals, and mobile applications to name a few.
Templates provide the foundation for all web applications built with m-Power. Every template comes pre-tested and includes all necessary application elements, which reduces development to a three-step process: Once users select their data, define their specs, and click "build", m-Power generates an application.
With this enhancement, mrc upgraded the presentation portion of m-Power's templates. These upgrades give m-Power users a number of benefits, such as:
-
Faster page load
mrc compressed and optimized the Javascript files used in m-Power templates, which reduces the generated application's overall page size. This reduction in page size means that m-Power applications will load significantly faster.
-
Simpler maintenance
mrc updated the CSS files used in m-Power's templates, updating the style sheet location and syntax. These changes let developers modify their application's styles without logging into m-Power, and immediately see changes without recompiling the application.
-
More flexibility
mrc reworked the HTML code used in m-Power's templates to take advantage of the most modern syntax and layout structure. This update gives users more options and greater flexibility in their application design and layout.
"These updates keep m-Power applications up-to-date with the most modern structure and syntax," says Tyler Wassell, mrc's Lead Software Developer. "But more importantly, they set the stage for some exciting new enhancements coming to m-Power in the near future."
